Qatar Airways Dazzles Philadelphia VIPs At Launch Gala

On Thursday, April 3, 2014, Qatar Airways hosted the grandest of galas to celebrate the launch of their new non-stop service from Philadelphia International Airport to Doha, Qatar. The red carpet was rolled out for the exclusive guest list, which included the who’s who of Philadelphia’s society, city officials, business and tourism executives, media personalities and international dignitaries.

The Honorable Mayor Michael Nutter, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, and His Excellency Al-Kuwari, Qatar Ambassador to the USA, former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell and more danced the night away in the lavishly decorated Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia.  The 5-star hospitality that Qatar is known for was recognizable in every detail of the gala, from a complete transformation of the lobby and grand ballroom of the Ritz to Montblanc luxury gifts for all guests.  Entertainment included a rhythmic dance performance by Quixotic and a musical set by Philadelphia’s own, Boyz II Men.  The Mistress of Ceremonies, Maria Papadakis, kept guests engaged and enchanted all night until the end when their attention was brought to Qatar Airways’ raffle for free flights to Doha. Overall, the crowd had an incredible time and many left with plans for a trip to Doha in their near future!
