#NewportRetreat
Picture this: a scenic harbor setting, exceptional sessions, and an abundance of fresh seafood. Last month C&A embarked on our annual company retreat – this year in Newport, Rhode Island! – for a multi-day offsite experience that supports the growth of our team personally and professionally. As always, we managed to have some fun along the way. From personal wellness time to interactive seminars, the itinerary included workshops led by nationally renowned speakers and authors, combined with social activities that offered us an opportunity to explore the local flavor (literally, that New England catch-of-the-day!) of our host location. ICYMI, here’s the highlights from our #NewportRetreat:
On day one we settled in at our home-away-from-home at Gurney’s Newport, greeted by goodie bags of branded C&A merchandise and gifts from our friends at Discover Newport. After lunch at the Newport Shipyard, we had dinner at local favorite Clarke Cook House before settling in for the night – but not before a sweet treat from Kilwins.
Day two kicked off with some personal wellness time where team members elected to utilize the onsite fitness facilities (complete with a sauna!), join in a group exercise class with the locals, or run laps around the picturesque coastline before being greeted by our first speaker, Dr. Camille Preston of AIM Leadership and author of Create More Flow and Overwired, who kicked us off with an interactive and informative session on creating more bandwidth and optimizing performance.
After Camille, it was time for some workplace #OOTD inspiration from the style mavens of Dressed Inc., who hosted a “Style that Works” seminar featuring an exercise in defining our personal brand mantra. Up next, an engaging agency “Show & Tell” work session engrained the team in C&A’s nearly 20 year evolution as an industry trail blazer – talk about a Throw Back Thursday!
The afternoonconcluded with the energetic words of author and speaker Gail Alofson, who hosted our “Leadership at All Levels” seminar featuring outtakes from her book, Your Someday is Now. After working up an appetite, the team gathered for dinner at The Mooring, where we reflected on our key takeaways from the day’s inspirational lineup.
Our final day kicked off with a hearty (and healthy!) breakfast and a session with the one-and-only Founder and CEO of Farmaesthetics, Brenda Brock. Brenda’s inspiring entrepreneurial story and journey to building one of the most successful clean and sustainably beauty brands in the world was a team favorite; closely aligning with the strategic work we do for our clients. The retreat came to a close with lunch at Castle Hill Inn and a tour/shopping spree at the Farmaesthetics flagship store.
With energized & inspired minds (not to mention full bellies and glowing skin), the team returned to our Old City headquarters thrilled to tap into the tactics we learned and put all of our takeaways into practice to continue to deliver high-impact, high-quality results for each and every client in our portfolio.
