The DNC Media Party: Highlights

The Democratic National Convention is now officially over, but lucky for us, C&A was able to be part of one of the week’s biggest festivities so the memories will live on. As the lead event producer for the Major League Media Party, C&A along with the PHLDNC 2016 Host Committee welcomed 10,000 of the most influential members of the media to the hottest event in Philadelphia this summer, the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

On Saturday, July 23, 2016, our “best of baseball” inspired party at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, served as the official kick-off of the DNC. C&A curated a diverse group of partners comprised of the best food and entertainment in the city of Philadelphia and beyond to treat guests to an unforgettable taste of the city.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted by their home state and territory flags, iconic mascots, including the Phillies Phanatic, the New Sound Brass Band, flying confetti, and signature Philadelphia “clappers” who escorted them to the park’s main concourse.

Once inside the ballpark, guests were greeted by a custom 30 ft. LED video board glowing with the Major League Media Party branding (designed by C&A) a live social media feed featuring guest’s personal photos and tweets from the event.  Guests continued through the energetic entry by traveling under the famed DJ Hollywood who was pumping up the crowd playing recognizable Philadelphia classics, such as the Rocky theme song.

Misting stations and a bevy of charging tables kept guests cool and their smartphones charged as they toured the main concourse, making their way through fifty restaurant stations serving diverse cuisine from around the world and the custom bars featuring Bluecoat Gin, Stateside Vodka, Maker’s Mark, Quaker City Mercantile and Anheuser Busch.

As they made their way through the event (C&A utilized 75% of the ballpark’s main concourse) guests were transported through a variety of live musical entertainment provided by DJ Nigel Richards, Brotherly Love, the CAPA Jazz Band, and the Kyle-Tully experience. Additionally, guests enjoyed selfie moments with the Philadelphia Phillies World Series Trophy, views of the park from atop Ashburn Alley’s upper-deck, and a chance to walk the bases on the field.

Everything from on-field photo opportunities, to VIP tours of the park, guests got a one-of-a-kind welcome to the city of Brotherly Love, they aren’t soon to forget. C&A is so grateful to our incredible partners and vendors for helping us bring the event to life, and the 2016 Philadelphia Host Committee for the incredible opportunity.

Thank you to all of the restaurants who provided our guests with their top notch bites!
