Celebrating Mural Arts in Philadelphia
The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program Advocates hosted the 2014 Wall Ball. With special guest and honoree Shepard Fairey, the celebration provided critical support for the Mural Arts Program’s efforts to beautify Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and serve its constituents. Presented by lead sponsor Citizens Bank, the evening featured live entertainment, art-making, and more to help further Philadelphia’s reputation as the “City of Murals.” This year the event honored Fairey alongside Penn Valley native and internationally accredited film producer M. Night Shyamalan and Mural Arts Executive Board Chair Joe Goldblum.
Wall Ball also featured, for the first time in Philadelphia, “Secret Walls!” Secrets Walls, which is an art battle between two artists on a blank white canvass, amazed and captivated guests throughout the night.
