Local Artist Spotlight: Stephanie Corfee
Congratulations to local designer, artist, author, friend, mom (and more!) – Stephanie Corfee – on the launch of her second book Girl Plus Pen, inspiring girls to discover and celebrate their own unique, artistic voice. It’s packed with step-by-step instructions, artistic prompts, and helpful tips – sure to become a favorite for any girl (and family).
Girl Plus Pen follows Stephanie’s first art book, Paint Lab For Kids, which presents 52 fun, fresh, and kid-friendly art lessons that each explore a paint medium, technique, or effect. This is the perfect book for creative families, friends, and community groups and works as lesson plans for both experienced and new teachers.
Stephanie Corfee has been a gown designer & maker, a sketcher of portraits, a graphic designer, and art teacher. She most recently has settled into her home-studio in Chester County creating original and commissioned artworks and prints, writing art books, and licensing her work for home decor products, toys, greeting cards and the like. She cares for her three little boys while working at home– and even incorporates her children and members of her family in her books!
We love Stephanie’s colorful and whimsical style, weaving intricate detail into vivid pattern in her abstract paintings. She has a particular fondness for florals, and creating art for kids spaces.
Some of Stephanie’s upcoming projects include a collaborative coloring book with fellow artists (Capstone), another collaboration with Fishtown kids shoemaker, Mason Dixon (think; hand-painted leather), plus more colorful paintings, sketches, and book projects being imagined and put to paper.
Stephanie participates in book events, demos, speaking, and local creative projects. To learn more or to contact Stephanie, visit stephaniecorfee.com.
