The 2016 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts Gala: Highlights

On Wednesday, April 6, hundreds gathered to celebrate the kick-off of the 2016 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, curated by the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts. Guests were welcomed on the Pink carpet, as photographers and onlookers captured the glamour of the evening. The evening was comprised of a cocktail hour, a gourmet dinner and a first look at the Kimmel’s 2016 lobby installation performance, The Kinetic Tree. After dinner, guests were escorted to Verizon Hall where Grammy Award winner Rhiannon Giddens performed a set of her newest solo work. The show closed out with a dramatic spectacle courtesy of Fers A. Cheval’s Quidams, a display of glowing, oversized horses which floated and danced guests out of the theater to enjoy dessert and a vivacious after-party.
