Entrepreneur Spotlight – Lamont A. Brown, Partner, Odyssey Capital Advisors

Up first is our agency’s longtime financial services and 401k provider, Lamont A. Brown, Partner at Odyssey Capital Advisors.
To kick things off, we asked Lamont “What’s inspiring you right now?”
With all that’s going on in the world today, social injustices, a pandemic, political divide…what inspires me is our firms ability to be impactful, effect change, and empower individuals while being our authentic selves.
Odyssey Capital Advisors is an independent investment advisory firm that provides fee-based investment management and financial planning advice to high-net worth individuals or families, institutions, corporate executives, athletes and entertainers and small business owners across the country. Odyssey is a trusted partner for investment advisory, philanthropic & trust services, risk management & insurance consulting, financial planning, estate & legacy planning, banking services, and institutional money management.
Lamont is a big believer in helping clients understand “the why.” Much more than simple data gathering sessions, client meetings are an opportunity for Lamont to share experiences with clients and ask open-ended questions that encourage introspection. As a financial planner and strategist, his job is then to figure out “the how”: what solutions will help us get you to where you would like to be on your journey? His client-centric focus depends heavily on collaboration. If a client need falls out of his scope of work, Lamont brings other advisors to the table—colleagues, attorneys, CPAs—to help move the needle. It’s all part of what Lamont likes to call “connecting.” Connecting clients to the people, resources and ideas that will help them become the best version of themselves.
Outside of the office, Lamont spends his free time in the company of his beautiful wife, Amanda, and their two boys, Lamont Jr. and Landon. He is always looking for opportunities to grow—as a husband, a father and a human—and this commitment to personal development fuels a reading habit that gravitates toward books that inspire introspection. The family takes frequent trips to the bookstore to find the next inhabitant of the learning shelf. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lamont is a diehard Eagles fan with deep roots in his hometown. He feels lucky to have such a supportive network of family and friends in the area. Lamont and his family attend Bethel Deliverance International Church in Wyncote.
