PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING VIRTUAL MASTERCLASS CERtIFICATE PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PHILADELPHIA ASSOCIATION OF BLACK JOURNALISTS

Traditional internships offer an undeniable opportunity for learning and career development, but there are extensive barriers to entry for many undergraduate students of color or students from minority backgrounds. Recognizing that, C&A and PABJ have created a certificate training program that offers fundamental guidance and resources in a condensed timeframe for enhanced learning and career exploration.

The session consists of three (3) 60-minute sessions featuring an introduction to agency, public relations and marketing, a careers and leadership panel discussion and an off-site newsroom tour for a glimpse into the world of journalism. Additionally, a portfolio building exercise is provided with an optional one-on-one feedback and coaching session from C&A leadership is included along with networking opportunities, and one-on-one mentorship access with the PABJ Chapter President, Ernest Owens. 

The PABJ leads the efforts of recruiting, interviewing, and selecting students to participate in the Masterclass series. Additionally, Cashman & Associates sponsors each student enrolled in the Masterclass series for a one-year membership to the PABJ and Philadelphia Public Relations Association.

Eligibility Requirements
The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists will interview and select all enrollees.  

  • Students majoring in or who majored in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Public Relations preferred. 
  • At this time only students or recent graduates with a GPA of 3.0 or greater will be considered for the program.
