The Weekender: Labor Day Edition
By Todd Scalgione
AHH the end of summer is finally upon us!! It’s almost time to say goodbye to the beach and warm weather. While many will be retiring their white pants and linen clothing this weekend I plan on pretending it’s summer all year around (or at least as long as I can!). Let’s get in the mood for a wonderful three day weekend and wave goodbye to summer the right way!
DO: MADE IN AMERICA
The most talked about concert of the summer is almost here! With an insane lineup that includes Beyonce and The Weeknd the concert is sure to be an amazing time. Get your last minute tickets here.
SIP: TALL SHIPS TAVERN FINAL WEEKEND
This Saturday and Sunday have an awesome environmental weekend at the Tall Ships Tavern at Independence Seaport Museum. This event will feature some educational information about water testing all while having fun! Learn to write with squid ink and even more while enjoying Philadelphia’s waterfront.
SEE: DISCOVERING THE IMPRESSIONISTS
Philadelphia Museum of Art is the only place in the U.S. to view this brilliant showcase of more than 80 works by Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Sisley, Degas, Manet and many others. Unfortunately the showcase ends on September 13th!! This could be your last chance to see this gorgeous exhibit. Take some time off and enjoy the museum.
GLAMORIZE: FORGET BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING
Take a break from the kids and spend some time examining the finest of jewelry. With four close locations in PA and NJ, Bernie Robbins Jewelers is the perfect place to find a lovely gift for yourself or someone special. Get yourself something gorgeous to mark a fresh and to look extra fashionable this upcoming season.
GO: DO AC ANNUAL BOARDWALK ART SHOW 2015
A variety of fine arts, fine crafts and many artists from the tri-state area will be lining the AC boardwalk this Saturday. There will also be live music and over $2,000 dollars in prizes awarded for everyone!
