The Weekender

Hola Cashmanites! My name is Todd and I’m here to keep all of you updated on the weekend’s hottest events and activities in the Philadelphia, NYC and Atlantic City areas. I’ll cover the good, help you avoid the lame, and make sure you’re always on top of what’s going on. Stick with me all summer long and you’re sure to have some fun. You’ll enjoy my “two cents”!

With the weather this past week being a total let down, everyone is in the mood for a fun weekend! Check out these events in Philadelphia, Atlantic City and New York City to brighten up your weekend. These events range from a Museum trip with the family to a full-blown night at the club. Click the links for more info and we hope you have an amazing first weekend of June.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 5-7
• Celebrate beer and all of its glory at Philadelphia Beer Week.

Philly on Tap Tour: Enjoy this 2-hour tour as you explore and learn about Philadelphia’s best craft beers.

• Bringing the kids? Check out The Jungle Book Musical. It surely will be fun for the entire family!

• Enjoy a beautiful performance of Memphis at the Walnut Street Theater.

• Looking for a bit of an adventure? Why not rent a paddle boat? Paddle Penn’s Landing:

Rodin the Human Experience at the James A. Michener Art Museum is a stunning must see exhibit for every museum hopper around town!

• “Swing in a hammock, gaze up at a canopy of lights, drink a local craft beer on a colorful Adirondack chair, or take in the scene from the floating barges.” Spruce Street Harbor Park sounds good to me!

Saturday, June 6
Intimate Illusions No. 1 Magic Show in LA comes to Philly and we’re so excited!

• Get up and get active at this awesome 5K run that collaborates with multiple non-profit organizations. You will even feel like a superhero after!

• The Annual Parkwest Town Center Festival always shows out as a fun family event. Dont miss it!

Sunday, June 7
• What is more fun than a day filled with a sunny sky and great music? Check out the Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party.

• Have an interest in fascinating animals? Get up bright and early to go on an exploration to find some beautiful and rare birds of the Philadelphia area. Nature is wonderful!

• If you are feeling proud to be an Italian American or just excited to eat some great Italian food, make sure not to miss the Italian American Heritage Festival.

• Whether you’re looking for a fun time or just a pot of gold, you should make sure to head to the Irish American Festival.

New York
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 5-7
Whitney Museum of American Art has the most stunning location in the Meatpacking district of Manhattan. Great art in a great space.

• Enjoy some Shakespeare in the park and by the way, it’s FREE!

• “A favorite among Brooklyn’s summertime concert series, Celebrate Brooklyn is set at the beautiful Prospect Park Bandshell, where tons of seating and tree-shaded areas make for a lovely spot for a picnic, a plastic cup of wine and a free show.”

• So many amazing music festivals this weekend. Make sure to be at the Governors Ball Music Festival:

Saturday, June 6
