C&A’s Guide to Fall Fashion

It might be difficult to think about fall with the sweltering, humid, summer weather Philadelphia has been experiencing, but fall is around the corner, and with the new season comes a busy social calendar!  Believe it or not, the best time to stock up on fall fashion is NOW. So, crank up your air conditioning, and get comfortable, because we guarantee you’ll get caught in the black hole that is online shopping after checking out our top trends for fall.

  • In the Trenches

The classic trench coat makes a comeback this fall, but of course, with a modern twist.

Maison Margiela transformed the staple piece into an edgy, feminine, masterpiece. The color and buttons lend a timeless look while the neckline gives the outwear an “evening dress” feel.  Need some inspiration? Here are a few links to get your fingers clicking and credit card working: Love the tassels; the feminine detail and soft color are to die for; stripes plus an open shoulder and tie detail? Win.

  • Splashes of Silver

The metallic shade is a fall staple, appearing in the form of glamorous monochromatic outfits as well as a statement pieces like skirts, shorts, and tops for those who don’t want to commit to the full look.  Our favorite way to style this trend is in the form of shoes! These loafers are the perfect girly touch to any outfit. Too much glitter? Check out Bus Stop Boutique’s collection of oxford shoes that feature metallic shades in unexpected ways.

  • Statement Earrings

Chandelier earrings were seen on numerous fall/winter runways including Isabel Marant, Miu Miu, and Saint Laurent. The common themes being white crystal and king size, making for the perfect Studio 54 vibe.

Whether you’re looking to take on this trend runway style or tone it down,  Bernie Robbins has styles for every occasion. These art deco pyramid earrings are perfect for a special occasion and we love that the convertible chandelier earrings are two looks in one, with a pop of sapphire.

  •  Winter Floral

How does floral work for the colder months? Think coats, shoes, and purses! One of our favorite bloggers, Jacklyn from Three Sisters One Closet, brings the trend to life with a fun fur trimmed floral jacket. Pair this statement piece with neutrals and you’ve got an easy, head-turning look.
