The Weekender

By Todd Scalgione

Happy Friday Philadelphia! After a week of awesome humidity, flash floods, thunderstorms at random and various problems with electricity I am sure everyone needs a break from the nonsense. With sunny weather on the way it’s time we all got some vitamin D. Grab your sunscreen, your favorite beer and maybe bring the kids (or don’t!)! This week I’m throwing in a touch of French class in because Bastille Day (the start of the French Revolution) is coming up so it’s time to “let them(us!!) eat cake” and celebrate for absolutely no darn reason. Happy weekend! #Toddstwocents #weekendready #TGIF

There’s so much to do after as well. Local restaurants including London Grill, Paris Wine Bar and Rembrandt’s, will be offering a variety of French specials as well as The Penitentiary will be having its own after hours fun. A must go! SEE: NIGHTSCAPE AT LONGWOOD GARDENS
Whether its plans with a special someone or just a fun outing, the Nightscape at Longwood Gardens is a beautifully designed visual that features moving images and lights choreographed to music in 8 different parts of the garden. As stunning as it sounds is as stunning as it is.

SHOP: IN NEED OF AN OUTFIT?
If you’re all out cute clothes you need to head to Century 21 on 821 Market Street. A day of shopping is always awesome. I recently stopped into this beautiful mega store and noticed that the finds here are ridiculously sweet. The designer items come at very reasonable prices and trust me you will find an outfit that’s chic and affordable.

GO: GEORGE LOPEZ IN ATLANTIC CITY!
George Lopez is going to be performing at the Borgata this Saturday. There’s really not much to say here because he’s and awesome dude and his stand-up comedy is absolutely hilarious. He tends to explore topics like race and ethnic relations. Take a seat and have a laugh!!
