The Weekender

By Todd Scalgione

It’s a fresh weekend here in Philadelphia and there are some awesome things going on around the city. Whether you’re spending this weekend chillin or putting on your highest heels for a night out with friends, I’ve got you covered on the most amazing events and places. Though the weather says it’s going to rain this weekend we can’t let a little water ruin some time to hang. Let’s get to it! #Toddstwocents

TASTE: Parc Restaurant Bistro and Café located right in Rittenhouse Square. Recently I popped into this chic restaurant and fell in love with the food and the atmosphere. You must try the SCHOFFERHOFFER Grapefruit Hefeweize. If you love a Cold Blue Moon, this is its grapefruit twisted sister. Super refreshing during a hot summer day.

DO: DRESS TO IMPRESS AT SOFITEL
On the last Saturday of every month Sofitel will be hosting Summer Solstice Saturdays. This Saturday from 9pm to 1am at the Liberté Lounge you can dance and drink to a live DJ. Liberte is super chic, so be sure to wear your hottest outfit and maybe even schedule a blowout at Giovanni & Pileggi before (to make sure you look amaze). Keeping it cute, always.

SEE: MEET & GREET WITH DESMOND RICHARDSON AND A BEHIND-THE-SCENES TOUR
Tony Award Nominee and Dance Magazine Award Winner Desmond Richardson joins open house for NextMove Dance at the Prince this Sunday from 1-4pm. You’ll meet Desmond Richardson a talented Artistic Director and Guest Celebrity Performer from So You Think You Can Dance as well as Randy Schwartz a renowned dance expert and Founding Member of International Ballet Competition! Explore the newly invigorated Prince Theater while hanging out with these awesome guys. GO: ATLANTIC CITY SIPPIN’
If you’re in AC this Friday you must head to The Continental for The Premiere Beer Tasting Party. This event starts at 7pm and features the famous Cape May Brewery. At $33 a person this is a sweet bargain because you’ll be tasting delicious drinks like the The Bog Cranberry Shandy ABV: 3.9% : A tart cranberry wheat beer blended with lemonade to create an uber-drinkable summer shandy. This delicious beer will be paired with Goat cheese with roasted golden beet, pecan, Belgian endive, cranberry lemon compote. By the way that’s only one of the four Beers and Pairings. I’m actually sad I can’t be there!

HEAR: THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND
This awesome band will be performing at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden this Saturday. It’s a must see because they are a truly talented group (as you can tell I’m a huge fan). No explanation needed. Have fun!
