The Weekender

By Todd Scalgione

Another bright and sunny week in the city of Philadelphia has flashed before our very eyes! The 90 degree weather made our lovely city feel like The Bahamas (at least I tried to pretend I was on vacation). The humidity and my hair have been arguing all week and I feel like a bit of a mess. Maybe a trip to Giovanni and Pileggi is in order to lift my beauty spirits! Luckily, our little break is finally here and I am excited to say that there are some amazing things to do this weekend. From Jewelry Shopping to chugging an ice cold brew, I’ve got you covered on Philadelphia and AC’s hottest weekend fun.

SIP: HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS AT THE TWISTED TAIL
The Twisted Tail in Old City has been offering some great food and drink specials throughout July and August. Instead of having typical happy hour times they have mixed it up and offer a Sunday night special from 10pm to 12am. Great place to bring a friend!

TASTE: CENTER CITY DISTRICT RESTAURANT WEEK
Starting this Sunday, tons of amazingly delicious restaurants in Center City will be offering some amazing specials on food. More than 120 restaurants will be involved and all participating restaurants serve three course dinner menus for $35.00 (not including tax, gratuity, or alcohol), with select restaurants offering $20.00 prix-fixe lunch menus. YUM!

DO: MIGUEL LIVE
Miguel will be performing at the Theater of the Living Arts this Friday. I have seen him live before and he is amazingly talented! Check it out.

GO: SHARROTT WINERY LIVE MUSIC SERIES
If you’re in the Atlantic City area and enjoy music and wine (who doesn’t love this combo?!) there’s no better place to head to than the Sharrott Winery this Friday or Saturday. The live music will be held on the patio that overlooks the gorgeous vineyard. Delicious!
