Each year, Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers hosts a Summer Celebration from July through August featuring a series of new jewelry collections every weekend.  In 2009, the designer collections included classic styles from Roberto Coin, one-of-a-kind Spanish-inspired pieces from Carrera y Carrera, diamonds from A.Link, and beautiful pearls from Honora.  To kick off the 2009 Summer Celebration, Bernie Robbins hosted the “Back to the Beach Bash” at the Chelsea Hotel in Atlantic City.  This unique evening of entertainment included synchronized swimmers, jazz tunes, the sounds of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons Tribute Band, and mixes from DJ Panther.  Guests enjoyed Bacardi summer cocktails, retro-inspired hors d’oeuvres, and cigars provided by Holt’s Cigar Co. while relaxing by the pool and dancing the night away.

Cashman & Associates is the Public Relations agency for Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers and has designed and executed numerous events for Harvey and Maddy Rovinsky, including the Back to the Beach Bash at the Chelsea.  In June, Cashman & Associates arranged several walkthroughs of the Chelsea to begin planning the bash and reached out to media personalities at ABC, CBS, CW, FOX 29, NBC 10, and NBC 40 to personally invite them on behalf of Harvey Rovinsky.  Additionally, Cashman provided 1000 names for the Save the Date and invitation mailing and sent both mailings to media and key guests.  Cashman also worked with Philadelphia Style Magazine to secure Bacardi LTD as the liquor sponsor and ensured Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire, Dewar’s, Cazadores Resposado, and other Bacardi products for approximately six hundred people.

In terms of conceptualizing the Back to the Beach Bash, Cashman & Associates worked closely with Bernie Robbins, The Chelsea, and Event FX to create a floor plan that would guarantee the best flow for food, beverage, entertainment, and models.  With input from Bernie Robbins, Cashman determined the placement of all signage, banners, and jewelry cases, as well as collaborated with The Chelsea to make meeting room spaces for the entertainment, models, and gift bag area.  Cashman & Associates and The Chelsea developed a retro-inspired menu of hors d’oeuvres, and several associates had a tasting with The Chelsea’s Executive Chef and Pastry Chef to make final selections and review all menu items.  The Chelsea also helped Cashman create a specialty cocktail menu using Bacardi products, and Cashman subsequently designed drink signage for all of the bars at the event.

Cashman was also in charge of booking all entertainment, including a doo-wop group for the lobby of The Chelsea, DJ Panther for the fifth floor, a Frankie Valli tribute band, and synchronized swimmers.  Additionally, Cashman & Associates secured Event FX for all audio/visual, lighting, and equipment needs, and worked with the in-house team at The Chelsea to coordinate all electrical and rider needs.  Cashman booked a photographer and videographer to document the evening, as well as sufficient security personnel for the rooms featuring designer jewelry collections.  Finally, Cashman & Associates put together more than three hundred gift bags that were distributed the night of the event and provided over ten members of the Special Events and Public Relations teams for night-of assistance with checking in guests, handing out gift bags, and executing the step-and-repeat.

However, Cashman’s work for the Back to the Beach Bash went far beyond the night of the event.  The Cashman Public Relations team created and distributed a media alert to various media outlets and also submitted photos from the event to be included in the following publications or featured on the following websites:

  • Philadelphia Style Magazine

  • Mainline Magazine
  • Main Line Today

These media placements totaled more than $3000 in ad value and nearly $9000 in publicity value, securing Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers and the Back to the Beach Bash plenty of media exposure.  By combining Special Events and Public Relations, Cashman & Associates guaranteed an extremely successful bash and continued a lengthy tradition of fantastic Bernie Robbins events.
