Nicole’s Favorite Things
For the 17 days that the Olympics take place, Americans all around the country find ways to cheer on our nation’s athletes as they attempt to bring home the gold. Here are a few of my favorite ways to do so:
The Place To Watch: One of my neighborhood favorites, STARR Restaurant’s Frankford Hall, has unbeatable specials Sundays through Thursdays during the Olympics. Watch Team USA dominate on the big screen, and try your luck at guessing how many medals our nation brings home. You guess right, you could win a $400 STARR gift card.
The Hometown Heroes: Don’t know who exactly to cheer for? Check out the Philadelphia area athletes as they vie for greatness. Havertown’s Brendan Hansen won the bronze in the 100- meter breaststroke and tennis star Lisa Raymond, hailing from Wayne, won the bronze medal in mixed doubles with her partner Mike Bryan.
The Gold To Own: I can’t even fathom what it would feel like to win an Olympic medal. So, while this achievement is reserved for god-like athletes, the rest of us “normal” citizens will have to suffice with donning gold in other ways. I love TownHome’s Jennifer Meyer Word Collection – personalized yellow, rose, or white gold jewelry.
The Rainy Day Go-To: London is known for its unforgiving rainy weather, which has already caused some game-time chaos at this summer’s Olympics. Whether you’re overseas cheering on Team USA or watching the games here at home, stay dry and posh with Burberry’s Folding Check Umbrella.
