Wedding Tip #4: The Liquor Low-Down

Let’s be honest, wedding go-ers like to drink. It is imperative that there is enough booze flowing for all guests, with plenty of options to take them past last call. To avoid any planning blunders, my go-to wedding survival guide by REAL SIMPLE weddings recommends the following guidelines:

Estimate one drink per person per hour. (A bottle of wine contains five drinks; a liter of spirits, 22.) For each bottle of spirits, you’ll need three bottles of mixers. Below, how much to buy for a four-hour event based on your guest list. You may want to bump up the numbers for a Saturday-night affair; lower them for a Sunday soiree.

Beyond having the appropriate amount of liquor day-of, be sure to put your own spin on the cocktail menu. (This is your day, after all.) Signature drinks named after the bride and groom, that match the theme, or with a seasonal touch are always hits!
