Beach or Bust

Memorial Day Weekend is here at last (well, almost), and as I get ready to head down to the shore I’m hoping it will live up to the hype and the weather will participate. There’s a lot of emphasis on this unofficial kick off to summer, and there are PLENTY of fun all-weather happenings going on at the Jersey shore. Here are my top two must-do’s.

First off, I’m the kind of girl who runs, wallet in hand, to put in quality shopping time when the weather gets rough. Nothing helps me cope with missing out on prime time sun more than strolling The Pier Shops at Caesars. I’m on the hunt this weekend for top trends like neon details, orange hues, and fedoras from hot spots like Scoop NYC and Wolf Fine Jewelers (hello, neon orange watch with my name on it…). And, I’m dying to check out Avalon staple The Windrift Resort Hotel as it celebrates its 45^th year with the grand opening of its new Level 2, which offers indoor and outdoor beachfront space. This Saturday and Sunday hot bands Secret Service, The Benderz Trio, and The Amish Outlaws will perform live and kick summer off right, fist pumps optional.

So, weather forecast aside, I’m headed to the shore to purchase my first fedora, and I’m cruising down to Avalon to rock out with men in suspenders. How could it be anything but amazing?!
