4 Simple Ways to Update Your Hair for Spring

Spring is all about renewal – what better time to try a new hairstyle? I’ve consulted with Giovanni Mele, Owner and Creative Director for Giovanni & Pileggi salon, for some easy ideas to update your hair this season:

Show Your Roots

The ombre look continues to be a popular hair color request at Giovanni & Pileggi, and it’s no surprise due to how versatile and low-maintenance this look is. The Spring 2012 version uses rich, warm caramel and coppery shades rather than 2011’s “brown to blonde” look.

Switch Your Part

Sick of your side part? Center parts were seen all over the Spring 2012 runways and you’d be surprised how switching up where you part your hair can change your look. (Giovanni gave me a center part when I saw him this past weekend and I’m hooked!)

Bob & Weave

With warm weather approaching, Spring is the ideal time for long-haired ladies to take off some serious length. Not ready to commit to a cut? Try a “faux bob” by tucking and pinning longer locks to give the illusion of short hair.

Catch a Wave

Forgo your straightening iron and let your natural texture show through! A look that’s been coined “the urban wave” features pretty, imperfect – almost messy – waves. To keep this style chic, make sure hair is healthy and nourished and finish with a shine spray to add some polish.
